Politics

My father was a Democrat. He believed that because he was a Mexican American he needed to be a Democrat. He also believed that the Republican party was for the rich.

I disagreed with him. I am a Mexican American, I am a Republican and my finances are okay. I’m also a moderate conservative candidate, and I will do my best to represent the city and county of El Paso, in Austin.

Mom’s Advice

I grew up poor, in the area of downtown El Paso. My mother instilled the belief that we needed to be educated no matter how poor we were. I took her advice. She also was very much against depending on the government for sustenance.

Growing up

I came to El Paso, at the age of seven with my two brothers (from Mexico). My mother married a wonderful man who became my adopted “dad”. I went to San Jacinto elementary, Irvin High school and I graduated from El Paso High School. After graduating from high school I joined the Navy, became an Aircraft Electrician, was stationed at Okinawa, Japan. I also served as a Reserve with Navy Squadron VF-202 at N.A.S. Dallas.

Once my enlistment was over (Honorable), I enrolled at the University of Texas at El Paso, transferred to Texas Tech University, and studied Textile Management. I ended up graduating from UTEP with a degree in Business Management with a minor in Accounting.
